🦷 Reference Clinical Case
Protocol documented in the case Posterior Crown in 2 Hours with Vitality: molar with extensive caries restored in a single chairside session. UNIKK Veneer LV was the cement used for definitive cementation with confirmed radiographic result.
🔬 What is UNIKK Veneer LV
UNIKK Veneer LC is the light-cured cement developed by Smart Dent specifically for definitive 3D printed restorations. The LV (Low Viscosity) version features unique rheological behavior: it behaves like a composite resin at rest, but flows under pressure during seating of the piece, ensuring ideal marginal adaptation.
⚙️ Exclusive Technologies
- OLD — Optimized Light Dispersion: improves light dispersion, ensuring a natural optical effect and preventing the graying characteristic of 3D resin veneers and crowns cemented with conventional cements
- Optimized Fluorescence: compatible with 405 nm LED — ensures natural aesthetics in different lighting environments, including sunlight and artificial light
- Low Viscosity (LV) Paste: behaves like a composite resin, but flows under pressure for better adaptation and easy removal of excess after seating
- Colors aligned with the VITA scale: TRS, A1, A2, A3.5, B1, BL2 — chromatic harmony between cement and piece
📋 Step-by-Step Protocol — Dr. Weber Ricci
Pre and Post Processing — Smart Print Bio Vitality
PRE-PROCESSING
- Filter the resin through a 100 µm sieve before each reuse.
- Homogenize the resin for 1 min (spatula or controlled agitation).
- Maintain operating temperature between 25–35 °C.
- Check resin level and vat integrity before each print.
Note: resin outside 25–35 °C alters viscosity, load dispersion, and dimensional repeatability.
POST-PROCESSING
Washing and cleaning — NanoClean Pod
- Carefully remove all supports to avoid damaging the part.
- Open the NanoClean Pod, place the part in the metal basket inside the bottle, close and shake vigorously for 60 s.
- Remove the basket, remove the parts with tweezers and use absorbent paper to remove excess NanoClean.
Drying with compressed air
- Apply compressed air (80 in equipment –100 psi) to the entire part until no excess NanoClean remains, especially in internal and adaptation areas.
- In these areas, a microbrush or Nanoclean Pen can be used.
- Position absorbent paper behind the part during air jet to retain excess liquid.
The part must be completely dry before post-curing; residues impair conversion and marginal adaptation.
UV Post-curing
Post-curing is the most important step for the material to achieve maximum performance of its mechanical properties. Under no circumstances should this step be neglected, at risk of early failure of the prosthetic part.

Perguntas Frequentes
What is UNIKK Veneer LV?
Smart Dent light-cured cement with Low Viscosity technology: behaves like a composite resin but flows under pressure for ideal adaptation. OLD (Optimized Light Dispersion) technology prevents graying of 3D resin parts.
What is the cementation protocol for Vitality with UNIKK Veneer LV?
Part: Al₂O₃ 27μm sandblasting + phosphoric acid 60s + silane 5min + unpolymerized adhesive. Tooth: Al₂O₃ 27μm sandblasting + phosphoric acid 15s + adhesive WITHOUT light-curing. Cementation: UNIKK LV + progressive pressure + excess removal + 40s/surface + glycerin + 10s/surface.
Why not light-cure the adhesive before cementing?
Premature polymerization of the adhesive — including by ambient light or reflector — compromises final adhesion. The adhesive must remain fluid to integrate with the cement during seating under pressure.
Does OLD technology prevent graying?
Yes. OLD (Optimized Light Dispersion) improves light dispersion in the cement, eliminating the optical graying effect typical of conventional cements under highly translucent 3D resin parts.
Does UNIKK Veneer work with any printer?
Yes. It is compatible with any 405 nm DLP/LCD 3D resin, including Smart Print Bio Vitality. The protocol was validated by Dr. Weber Ricci in a documented clinical case with a definitive posterior crown.
